Plaintiffs Add New Claim To Reebok Sneaker Suit

Law360, New York (January 26, 2011, 4:11 PM EST) -- A proposed consumer class has added a false advertising claim to a suit accusing Reebok International Ltd. of using unsubstantiated studies to support false claims that its EasyTone sneakers can help wearers tone various muscles.

Reebok violated a Massachusetts state law barring unfair and deceptive conduct in advertising, the proposed class alleged in an amended complaint lodged Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

The suit, originally filed in November, already included federal counts for unjust enrichment and untrue or misleading advertising....
