Novartis Sues Teva Over ANDA For Generic Lotrel

Law360, New York (September 21, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis AG has sued Israeli generics maker Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. to block a generic version of its hypertension drug Lotrel.

Novartis said it has filed a lawsuit against Teva in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey for patent infringement of its high blood-pressure medication Lotrel. It filed the lawsuit in the on Sept. 16.

Teva claims its own product doesn't infringe Lotrel's patent and also says the patent is invalid, according to Novartis.
