Georgia Power Faces Suit Over Pollution

Law360, New York (April 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Environmentalists filed a lawsuit Friday to force the Environmental Protection Agency to require Georgia Power to clean up a plant that it says has been operating in violation of the Clean Air Act for more than 20 years.

Justine Thompson, executive director of the Georgia Center for Law in the Public Interest, said Monday that the recent ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court in the Duke Energy case buoyed optimism about the suit’s chances of success.
