Sony Wins TRO Against Alleged PlayStation Hacker

Law360, New York (January 27, 2011, 6:59 PM EST) -- A federal judge Thursday granted Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC 's request for a temporary restraining order against alleged PlayStation 3 hacker George Hotz.

Two weeks after ordering both sides in the dispute to provide further briefings on the TRO and on the question of whether the court should have jurisdiction over Hotz, who is a New Jersey resident, Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California sided with Sony on both issues.
