5th Circ. Clears BP Traders Of Propane Antitrust Plot

Law360, New York (January 27, 2011, 7:21 PM EST) -- The Fifth Circuit has affirmed the dismissal of a criminal case accusing four ex-BP Products North America Inc. commodities traders of conspiring to manipulate the U.S. propane market.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on Thursday upheld a lower court's ruling that the defendants' conduct was not criminal because it fell within an exemption to the Commodities Exchange Act.
