Jones Day Can Exit Soverain-Newegg Suit: Fed. Circ.

Law360, New York (January 27, 2011, 7:35 PM EST) -- The Federal Circuit has allowed Jones Day to withdraw as counsel for Soverain Software LLC in rival Newegg Inc.'s appeal of a $2.5 million judgment against it over patents covering e-commerce software.

In a ruling Thursday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit granted the firm's motion to pull out of the case and ordered new principal counsel to enter an appearance on behalf of Soverain.
