Rothstein Partner Settles With Bankruptcy Trustee

Law360, New York (January 28, 2011, 3:19 PM EST) -- The bankruptcy trustee overseeing convicted Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein’s defunct law firm has cut a $500,000 settlement deal with one of Rothstein’s partners, to be paid out of his future earnings and a liquidated retirement account.

The assets of former Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler PA partner Russell Adler and his wife Katie are so depleted that a lengthy trial seeking a larger payout would be pointless, trustee Herbert Stettin wrote in Thursday’s motion seeking approval of the settlement in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District...
