Enviros Sue For Access To Info On Faulty Dams

Law360, New York (January 31, 2011, 8:08 PM EST) -- An environmental advocacy group is suing to force the U.S. Section International Boundary and Water Commission to turn over information about two dams on the Rio Grande the group says are dangerously close to failure.

In a complaint lodged Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility alleges the agency wrongfully withheld documents concerning the safety and conditions of the dams, flooding maps and emergency action plans that were requested under the Freedom of Information Act.
