Health Care Co. Strikes $26M Deal In Medicaid Suit

Law360, New York (February 1, 2011, 4:25 PM EST) -- Managed health care company CareSource has agreed to pay $26 million to settle a whistleblower suit brought by two former nurses claiming it received Medicaid payments for assessment and case management services that were never provided.

Under a notice of settlement filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, CareSource and two subsidiaries, CareSource Management Group Co. and CareSource USA Holding Co., will pay about $15.8 million to the federal government and about $10.2 million to the state of Ohio, along...
