Heat Surge Fireplaces Spark Class Claims Of Shady Ads

Law360, New York (February 2, 2011, 6:48 PM EST) -- Electric fireplace manufacturer Heat Surge LLC has been slapped with a putative class action alleging it overstated the heating capability of its products and falsely advertised them as built by Amish workers in the U.S.

Attorney Joel D. Joseph lodged the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio on Monday, hitting Heat Surge with claims of fraud, breach of contract,deceptive trade practices in violation of Ohio law and unjust enrichment.
