Beef Co. To Pay $1.7M To Settle Sex Bias Claims

Law360, New York (February 3, 2011, 7:07 PM EST) -- Federal contractor Green Bay Dressed Beef LLC will pay $1.65 million to settle allegations that it discriminated against women at a Green Bay, Wis., packing plant, the U.S. Department of Labor announced Thursday.

The company agreed to pay back wages, interest and benefits to 970 women who were rejected for positions at the company plant in 2006 and 2007, the DOL's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs said.
