Fortinet Drops IP Fight Against Ex-Exec, Rival Co.

Law360, New York (February 4, 2011, 2:47 PM EST) -- Fortinet Inc. has made peace with a former sales executive who defected to network security rival Palo Alto Networks Inc., dropping trade secret, patent infringement and contract claims against PAN and its controversial hire.

On Thursday, Judge Ronal Whyte of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California dismissed all claims and counterclaims in the dispute in light of an agreement Fortinet hammered out with Patrick Brogan and PAN.
