Senate Rejects Davis-Bacon Exemption For FAA

Law360, New York (February 4, 2011, 11:59 AM EST) -- The U.S. Senate has blocked legislation from Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., that would exempt the Federal Aviation Administration from having to comply with the Davis-Bacon Act, which requires contractors to match local prevailing wages for their employees.

Senate Amendment 19 — offered as an addition to S. 223, the FAA Air Transportation Modernization and Safety Improvement Act — was tabled late Thursday by a vote of 55-42.
