Simpson Thacher Reps AOL In $315M HuffPost Buy

Law360, New York (February 7, 2011, 1:04 PM EST) -- AOL Inc. has agreed to buy popular news site The Huffington Post for $315 million in a deal marrying one of the Internet’s pioneering businesses with a five-year-old vanguard of new media.

The deal, inked during Sunday's Super Bowl in Dallas, furthers AOL’s goal to remake itself under CEO Tim Armstrong into a news gathering and content creating powerhouse following a decade of decline, according to the company. AOL will put up $300 million in cash and $15 million in stock to pay for the acquisition....
