LG Asks ITC To Probe Sony TVs, Blu-Ray Players

Law360, New York (February 7, 2011, 2:53 PM EST) -- LG Electronics Inc. has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to decide whether televisions and Blu-ray players imported by Sony Corp. infringe its patents, adding a layer to the ongoing intellectual property spat between the electronics giants.

In two complaints filed Friday, LG asked the ITC to take on two investigations, one centered on digital TVs and the other on devices containing Blu-ray players. LG says the products infringe its patents and were imported by Sony units in violation of Section 337 of the Tariff Act...
