Premera Offers $1.5M To End Tech Support FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (February 7, 2011, 2:07 PM EST) -- Premera Blue Cross has agreed to pay $1.45 million to settle a class action alleging it violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and Washington state law by failing to pay technical support workers overtime.

The parties asked the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington to preliminarily sign off on the settlement on Friday. Plaintiffs' counsel, Frank Freed Subit & Thomas LLP and Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein LLP, are eligible to receive 25 percent of the settlement fund.
