Landmark NLRB Facebook Case Ends With Settlement

Law360, New York (February 7, 2011, 7:10 PM EST) -- A National Labor Relations Board office reached a settlement Monday with American Medical Response of Connecticut Inc., the company accused of firing an employee for criticizing her boss on Facebook.

The agreement, approved by NLRB Hartford, Conn., Regional Director Jonathan Kreisberg, calls for AMR to make changes to its Internet policy and union representation procedures, the agency said. Dawnmarie Souza, the worker at the heart of the dispute, reached a separate, private agreement with AMR to resolve allegations surrounding her firing, it said.
