Natco Challenges Gilead Science's Tamiflu Patent

Law360 (February 8, 2011, 4:02 PM EST) -- Indian generics maker Natco Pharma Ltd. has challenged pharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences Inc.'s patent for the flu drug Tamiflu.

Gilead confirmed Monday that Natco has submitted an abbreviated new drug application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration requesting permission to manufacture and market a generic version of Tamiflu, which was invented by Gilead and licensed to F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in 1996.
