KeySpan To Pay $3M To Overbilled N.H. Customers

Law360, New York (April 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Natural gas utility KeySpan Energy Corp. will refund over $3 million to its overbilled New Hampshire customers as part of a settlement with the state’s Public Utilities Commission.

The settlement, which was revealed during a hearing before the Commission Tuesday, concludes an investigation into KeySpan’s billing procedures initiated by the NHPUC in June 2006. Following the investigation, KeySpan said that it had overbilled its customers $2.3 million since May 2001, and would repay that amount plus interest.
