FedEx To Pay At Least $50M To Settle Race Case

Law360, New York (April 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- FedEx Express will pay more than $50 million to settle a racial discrimination suit that alleged it treated minority employees worse by not promoting them, disciplining them for small matters and paying them poorly.

Sally Davenport, a spokeswoman for FedEx, said the settlement amount was $53.5 million. Court documents filed by plaintiff’s counsel Monday, however, say the amount is $54.85 million.
