Coach Sued For Sham Counterfeit Accusations

Law360, New York (February 9, 2011, 7:19 PM EST) -- A woman who claims Coach Inc. falsely accused her of selling counterfeit handbags on eBay has filed a proposed class action alleging the company is suppressing secondhand sales of its products through baseless trademark infringement claims.

Gina Kim filed the suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, alleging defamation and misrepresentation of trademark infringement.

According to the complaint, Kim is a former Coach employee who owned and tried to sell genuine Coach handbags on eBay.
