European Parliament Panel OK's Mobile Roaming Cap

Law360, New York (April 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A European Commission proposal to cap roaming charges for international mobile phone calls gained momentum Thursday when the European Parliament’s Industry Committee voted in favor of the measure.

The Committee approved its report, called “Roaming on public mobile networks,” which settled on a cap of €0.40 ($0.54) per minute for all outgoing mobile phone calls made while roaming and €0.15 ($0.20) per minute for calls received while a cellular customer is traveling outside his home network.
