Iran Ordered To Pay $23M In Helicopter IP Suit

Law360, New York (February 14, 2011, 12:04 PM EST) -- Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. has been awarded $22.5 million in its suit accusing the government of Iran of selling helicopters that infringe the company's trade dress and design patents.

Judge Ricardo M. Urbina of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued the damages award on Friday, nearly two years after he entered a default judgment against Iran for failure to respond to the suit. Iran has never entered an appearance in the case.
