Cablevision, FCC Square Off Over Service Withholding

Law360, New York (February 14, 2011, 2:14 PM EST) -- Cablevision Systems Corp. sought to persuade the D.C. Circuit on Monday that a section of the Federal Communications Act barring withholding of video programming by a service provider only applies to satellite transmissions, not terrestrial ones.

The section at issue “bristles with the term 'satellite,'” Cablevision attorney Henk Brands told the three-judge panel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
