US Sued Over Lake Tahoe Basin Logging Project

Law360 (February 14, 2011, 7:22 PM EST) -- Two environmental groups have launched a suit against the U.S. Forest Service over a logging project in California's Lake Tahoe Basin, alleging the agency's environmental assessment underestimated the project's greenhouse gas emissions.

In a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, the Earth Island Institute and the Center for Biological Diversity say the Angora Project will also severely impact the black-backed woodpecker population.
