Huawei Asks White House To Rule On 3Leaf Buy

Law360, New York (February 15, 2011, 6:11 PM EST) -- China-based telecom solutions provider Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. said Tuesday that it would not heed a U.S. panel's request to divest intellectual property purchased from California startup 3Leaf Systems and asked the Obama administration to rule on the issue.

Huawei said the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, which is tasked with ensuring corporate deal making does not unduly compromise control of critical infrastructure or national security, requested that the company undo its $2 million purchase from May.
