Semiconductor Companies Put Aside Differences

Law360 (April 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Nova Measuring Instruments Ltd., an Israeli technology company in the semiconductor industry, has settled three patent suits with Silicon Valley rival Nanometrics Inc.

As part of the settlement, the two companies agreed to dismiss, without prejudice, all pending patent litigation between them. They also agreed not to file any more patent suits against each other for a period of one year.

Judge Maxine M. Chesney of the U.S. District Court in San Francisco approved the settlement of two of the cases late Thursday.
