Energizer Strikes Deal Over Expired LED Patent

Law360, New York (February 15, 2011, 6:04 PM EST) -- Energizer Holdings Inc. on Tuesday settled a qui tam suit accusing it of improperly marking two light-emitting diode products with an expired patent.

Judge David Folsom of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas signed off on the settlement, which allows Energizer to sell off, or otherwise dispose of, its inventory of LED products stamped with the patent-in-suit.

Further details of the settlement were not immediately available.
