Potato Head Hit With Campaign Donation Charges

Law360, New York (February 16, 2011, 1:33 PM EST) -- California prosecutors have charged the owner of Agri-Empire Corp., one of the nation’s largest potato growers, with illegally making more than $60,000 in donations to the election campaigns of two candidates for the state's legislature.

The California attorney general’s office Tuesday unveiled an indictment in the Riverside County Superior Court accusing James Larry Minor of money laundering, making false statements, committing perjury and conspiring to violate the state’s Political Reform Act in connection with the donations.
