Novo Nordisk Faces Criminal Probe Over Diabetes Drugs

Law360 (February 16, 2011, 4:35 PM EST) -- Novo Nordisk A/S said Wednesday that U.S. prosecutors had served it with a subpoena for documents related to potential crimes involving the marketing and promotion of three of its diabetes drugs.

The Denmark-based drug giant said it would cooperate with the investigation involving diabetes drugs NovoLog, Levemir and Victoza, and that it could not predict the length of the probe or its outcome.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts did not immediately respond to a request for more information on the investigation.
