Court Bans DVD Maker From Hiding Assets

Law360 (April 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A court has issued a temporary restraining order banning a California DVD player manufacturer from moving its assets to avoid paying $15 million in outstanding royalties and interest to a technology licensing company.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado granted MPEG LA’s motion Tuesday, after hearing evidence that Mintek Digital Inc. had been transferring inventory, customers and orders to a newly formed company, SuperView Technology Inc. to shirk its responsibility.
