Some Infringement Claims Lifted In EMC-Authenex Spat

Law360, New York (February 17, 2011, 3:02 PM EST) -- A federal judge has ruled EMC Corp. did not infringe four claims in an Authenex Inc. patent covering password generation technology, leaving the plaintiff to file final infringement contentions.

Judge Mariana Pfaelzer of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California found Wednesday that EMC’s RSA SecurID 800, a small electronic keyfob used in banking and other secure transactions, did not infringe terms in Authenex’s patent involving physical aspects of a similar device.
