GOP, Obama Face Off On Unions In Gov’t Contracts

Law360, New York (February 17, 2011, 2:08 PM EST) -- Rep. John Sullivan, R-Okla., has introduced legislation that would overturn a 2009 executive order authorizing federal agencies to require government contractors hired for large-scale construction projects to submit to labor agreements already negotiated with major unions.

The Government Neutrality in Contracting Act, introduced Wednesday, would essentially nullify President Barack Obama’s Executive Order 13502 and revert government contracting practices to a Bush-era executive order that prohibited federal agencies from entering into so-called project labor agreements.
