Texas Bar Refuses To Ban Sex With Clients

Law360 (February 18, 2011, 6:47 PM EST) -- The State Bar of Texas has refused to adopt rules that would forbid attorneys from having sex with their clients, setting itself apart from state bars like California's that already ban lawyers from sleeping with those they represent.

The Texas bar said Thursday that its members had voted down the proposed amendments to the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, which had included a number of new rules governing the client-attorney relationship, including the no-sex-with-clients mandate.
