Insurers Freed From Coverage Of Egg Price-Fixing MDL

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 5:17 PM EST) -- A federal judge in Indiana has shot down Rose Acre Farms Inc.'s lawsuit seeking coverage from Columbia Casualty Co. and National Fire Insurance Co. of Hartford in a multidistrict litigation over alleged price-fixing in the egg market.

In an order Friday on competing summary judgment motions, Judge Sarah Evans Barker of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana rejected Rose Acre's contention that it's owed a defense in the litigation because it could be found liable for damages over advertising practices.
