Murdochs' Shine Deal Likely To Draw Shareholder Ire

Law360, New York (February 22, 2011, 7:51 PM EST) -- News Corp.'s planned $670 million purchase of Shine Ltd. faces near-inevitable legal challenges from shareholders as a result of the father-daughter relationship between media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Elisabeth Murdoch, the CEO of the targeted television production company, experts say.

News Corp. said Monday it plans to acquire 100 percent of London-based Shine, which consists of some two dozen production companies in 10 countries and is best known in the U.S. for its hit shows Ugly Betty, The Biggest Loser and The Office.
