SEC Sets FCPA Sights On Silicon Valley

Law360, New York (April 11, 2011, 7:06 PM EDT) -- As enforcers continue their Foreign Corrupt Practices Act crackdown, Silicon Valley — with its close ties to Asia — is likely to be feeling the heat, experts say.

Over the past year, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission demonstrated that FCPA enforcement is a top priority, netting roughly $2 billion in settlements and fines in 2010, and the enforcement specialists have now turned their eye to the technology sector, attorneys said.
