High Court Mulls Appeal of California Labor Law

Law360 (April 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court might weigh in on a long-running case challenging a California labor law that prohibits companies from digging into the public purse to influence union activities.

After convening last Friday to hear argument, the High Court asked the Solicitor General's office Monday for its comments on the U.S Chamber of Commerce’s attempt to overturn the statute.

Willis Goldsmith, of Jonesday, acting for the Chamber of Commerce said the Supreme Court's request for government comment was a "positive development".
