Court Awards Integra LifeSciences $6.4M In Patent Suit Vs. Merck KGaA

Law360 (September 28, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a widely watched case that hinged on the exemption from patent infringement claims enjoyed by drug makers during their research and development, a federal court has reduced medical device maker Integra LifeSciences’ damages award in its lawsuit against Merck KGaA from $15 million to $6.4 million.
