NY Bill Seeks To Ban Fracking Until EPA Weighs In

Law360, New York (February 24, 2011, 5:15 PM EST) -- The New York State Assembly introduced a bill Wednesday that would establish a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing until a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency report on the practice is issued.

According to the EPA's website, initial research on the controversial method of natural gas drilling is expected to be released by the end of 2012, and the goal is for the final report to be completed in 2014.
