Huawei Invites US Probe To Dispel Security Fears

Law360, New York (February 25, 2011, 9:11 PM EST) -- China-based Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. dared the U.S. government Friday to investigate allegations that the telecom company presents a threat to U.S. national security, after seeing the “unfounded” rumor undermine its business deals.

Huawei published an open letter on its website welcoming a formal investigation just weeks after a bipartisan group of congressional lawmakers came out against Huawei's $2 million acquisition of California cloud computing startup 3Leaf Systems' intellectual property, citing a serious risk to U.S. security.
