Petroleum Co. Hit With Enviro Suit Over NY Leakage

Law360 (February 24, 2011, 9:28 PM EST) -- The federal government sued Adirondack Energy Products Inc. on Thursday for allegedly failing to properly monitor its underground storage tanks in New York to prevent releases of petroleum from contaminating the groundwater.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency lodged a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York, claiming the Malone, N.Y.-based petroleum company violated underground storage tank rules under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
