FTC Fails To Stay $58M LabCorp Merger

Law360, New York (February 28, 2011, 12:33 PM EST) -- A federal judge in California refused Friday to force Laboratory Corp. of America to remain separate from recently acquired Westcliff Medical Laboratories Inc. while the Federal Trade Commission appeals a bid to block the $57.5 million deal.

Judge Andrew J. Guilford of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California denied the agency's request for a stay pending appeal of his refusal to grant a preliminary injunction on Tuesday.
