Judge OKs Investor Settlement In Qwest Merger Suit

Law360 (February 28, 2011, 11:26 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Friday approved a class action settlement requiring Qwest Communications International Inc. to pay $2 million and disclose additional financial information about its $22 billion merger with CenturyLink Inc., bringing an end to consolidated securities litigation accusing the companies of shortchanging shareholders.

Judge Wiley Y. Daniel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado granted the plaintiffs’ motion for final approval of the settlement, which was first reached in early December. The order is expected to take effect on March 17,...
