SEC, DOJ Open FCPA Probes Into Las Vegas Sands

Law360, New York (March 1, 2011, 12:58 PM EST) -- Las Vegas Sands Corp. said Tuesday it was being investigated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice in connection with allegations the company violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act by planning to influence Chinese officials.

In an annual filing, the casino company revealed it had received a subpoena from the SEC on Feb. 9 seeking documents connected with its compliance with the law. The DOJ is conducting a similar inquiry, according to the company.
