Monsanto Seeks To Step Into Sugar Beet Venue Battle

Law360, New York (March 1, 2011, 6:44 PM EST) -- Monsanto Co. is seeking to intervene in a challenge to the federal government's recent partial deregulation of genetically modified sugar beets, saying the case should be consolidated with already pending litigation in a different court.

In a motion to intervene filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the company said the new suit against the government's policy should be moved to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
