FTC Gives Green Light To $1.25B CVS-Universal Deal

Law360 (March 1, 2011, 8:03 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday granted an early termination of its antitrust review of CVS Caremark Corp.'s planned $1.25 billion purchase of New York-based Universal American Corp.'s Medicare Part D business.

By granting the companies' early termination request, the FTC decided to close the waiting period for the transaction mandated by the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act without taking any enforcement action.
