Feds Seized Evidence Without Warrant, Utility Co. Says

Law360, New York (March 1, 2011, 6:09 PM EST) -- A utility equipment company and two executives asked a California federal judge Monday to suppress evidence they claimed federal agents illegally seized before accusing them of scheming to bribe officials for contracts with Mexico's state-owned utility.

The federal government only obtained a search warrant for two of Lindsey Manufacturing Co. 's seven buildings hours after it had already raided them, according to a motion to suppress filed by the company and the executives in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
