Feds Urge Light Sentence For Contractor Over Bribery

Law360, New York (March 2, 2011, 2:31 PM EST) -- The government Tuesday asked for a relatively light sentence for Michigan Municipal Services LLC owner Sheldon Divers, who admitted that he plotted to bribe a former municipal official in Ecorse, Mich., to win a $3.1 million public works contract.

The defendant provided "substantial assistance" in the investigation of bribes in Ecorse, federal prosecutors told the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, asking for a 30- to 36-month sentence for Divers.
