Merck Settles Trade Secrets Row Over Software

Law360, New York (March 3, 2011, 3:19 PM EST) -- Software maker Xantel Inc. on Wednesday resolved a trade secrets suit in New Jersey that accused Merck & Co. Inc. of leaking Xantel's confidential information to IBM Corp. in violation of a software contract.

Judge Garrett E. Brown Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey tossed the case without an award of costs, retaining the right to reopen the matter within 60 days if the settlement is not consummated.
